IOGEAR's palm sized 1-port USB 2.0 Print Server allows any networked computer to share an USB printer. It complies with USB 2.0 specifications (backward compatible with USB 1.1 spec.), and provides users with an auto-sensing Ethernet port that works with either 10Base-T or 100Base-T networks. https://dscelestial.weebly.com/do-not-track-me-app-for-mac.html. I used the demo version of Intermapper to 'locate' the print server. Since it defaults to DHCP it is a way to discover the current IP of the IOGear print server. Once the IP is located, you can set up the print server using the built in http server and set it to a static address.-Chris #. This was the most recent hint that relates to my challenges. So, if you want to set up a GigaFast print server (EE171-PR) on OS 10.3, read on. The box states it supports OS 8 & higher! Their website was pretty crappy/useless. GigaFast stupidly leaves the IP interface disabled so you will probably have to have a winhell box to turn that on (even a crossover cable from peecee at work might do the trick). Alternatively, you might search on here for the arp UNIX command. I found a hint showing how you might be able to assign an IP with the MAC address printed on the box. Didn't try it. So, using their winhell utility, you can set a manual IP address or turn on DHCP. It will then require a restart of the PS.
Once it's available, go back to a Mac and install the latest stable release of GIMP-Print (4.2.7 worked for me). Note, at this point all wires must be connected and the printer turned on.

Then, open Print Center and click the add button. Select IP Printing & LPD/LPR printing from the list below that. For the address, put in its IP address. You can try the default queue, but if that doesn't work, try lp3, lp2, lp1 in that order (3 worked for me). The queue drop down list actually showed lp3 so it might for you as well.
Lastly, you will need to select your printer from the Mfr list and click add. My Epson C80 works with the caveats below.
This is from memory so I may update at a later date. Also, if anyone has any info on making Carbon apps print better, I'd be grateful. Right now the only thing I can think of is to preview my prints and then print from there. (Specifically, gradients from AppleWorks were TOTALLY hosed)
For Jag (10.2), the same steps above ought to work except there are no drop down lists for address/queue and no selecting LPD/LPR printing.
